
With the aim of promoting and recognising the quality and merit of master’s and doctoral students at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) in the areas of economics, management, regional development and agricultural sciences, the “Crédito Agrícola Awards” have been established.
In this first edition, 10 prizes were awarded to the best master’s dissertations and doctoral theses, highlighting the scientific excellence of the work carried out by young UTAD researchers.
Merit Awards for Doctoral Theses
Within the scope of the doctoral programmes Agribusiness & Sustainability and Development, Societies and Territories, hosted by CETRAD – Centre for Transdisciplinary Development Studies:
🥇 1st Prize – Ana Filipa Ribeiro Trigo
Thesis: “Sustainability in the Wine Business: The development of a proper and holistic assessment tool for winegrowing”
Value: 3.000€
🥈 2nd Prize – Alex Oliver Alves Rodrigues
Thesis: “Empreendedorismo Artesanal: contributos no desenvolvimento sustentável de territórios de baixa densidade transfronteiriços”
Value: €1,500
🥉 3rd Prize – Ana Rute Pimenta Cardoso
Thesis: “Representações Sociais sobre a agricultura de jovens em idade escolar no norte de Portugal”

🥇 1st Prize – Emili Cunha Santos
Dissertation: “Empreendedores em Part-Time: O medo do fracasso”
Value: €2,000
