CETRAD/UTAD boosts entrepreneurship with idea competition under the UI-CAP project

CETRAD/UTAD is developing an entrepreneurship program within the framework of the UI-CAP project: Universities as a Capacity Building Interface for the Creation of Technological Employment, which aims to strengthen the role of higher education institutions in promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and the creation of qualified jobs. The project aims to enhance knowledge value and technology transfer, especially among young people and the academic community.

In this context, the INOV_Tech@UTAD business idea competition was launched, receiving 27 applications. Following the evaluation process, 10 ideas were selected, involving 24 participants, who advanced to the training phase. In December 2025, the entrepreneurs completed 21 hours of specialized training in areas such as idea validation, business models, market analysis, sustainability, and pitching.

From these, 6 finalist projects were selected and will benefit from specialized consulting and mentoring. In the final stage, the top 3 ideas will be awarded prizes of โ‚ฌ3,000, โ‚ฌ2,000, and โ‚ฌ1,000. The initiative, developed in partnership with AAUTAD and USC, reaffirms CETRAD/UTADโ€™s commitment to socioeconomic development and job creation through innovative, technology-based solutions
