Description:

This report embodies the basic studies carried out, which were presented in two progress reports, and discussed on an ongoing basis with the president of the IVDP, in periodic meetings scheduled for that purpose. The report also incorporates and benefits from the comments and suggestions that Prof. Daniel Bessa has been providing as an external consultant to the IVDP for this study.

Objectives:
The Study for the definition of a Strategic Path for the Port and Douro Wine Sector aims, as the title indicates, to generate knowledge to support a sustainability strategy for the sector. The general objective is to strengthen market competitiveness through mechanisms to create value generated by growth in sales and increased profitability for economic agents in the sector, as well as to reduce risk by diversifying demand.
