Description:

Aims to increase systemic and holistic knowledge about the supply and demand of tourism products and services in the Douro (declared Cultural Landscape of Humanity by UNESCO in 2001), evaluate communication strategies and define priorities to improve digital marketing, coordination and articulated organization of tourism supply in the Douro region and the construction of a more sustainable, durable and responsible tourism.

The project, focused on the Douro and Tourism, is structured in 4 interconnected lines:
1) Analyze the tourism offer;
2) Investigate the image and tourist reports;
3) Know the demand and the social, cultural, economic and environmental effects of tourism;
4) Develop digital marketing tools to support the growth of tourism that is intended to be responsible and sustainable. The 3-year project involves mainly UTAD researchers, mostly from CETRAD and some from the Engineering Department.
