Description:

The DesAgro 4.0 project, co-financed through FEDER and promoted by DOLMEN, RUDE, UTAD and IPCB, has as main purpose to provide SMEs in the agro-food and agro-industrial sector of the territories of Douro Verde and Cova da Beira with skills and knowledge that make them able to adopt and incorporate into their activity intelligent business models, i.e. based and sustained in the so-called Internet of Things (IoT) or, more generally, in Industry 4. 0, namely those that represent support to decision making. This is of unparalleled importance given the constant intensification of competitiveness in an increasingly demanding market, creating challenges that will only be overcome and capitalised by qualified companies, open to innovation and able to integrate it in the most astute way and adjusted to their infrastructural, economic and commercial reality, increasing productivity or reducing costs of their activity.

Project Objectives: The Des Agro 4.0 project aims to fill the gaps identified in the sector, combating the lack of knowledge of SMEs in the targeted territories about technologies applicable to their business and their economic dimension and encouraging the agri-food and agro-industrial sector to join and implement an intense component of advanced technology.
