Vicente Pinilla holds a Ph.D. in Economics (University of Zaragoza 1990). Professor in Economic History at the University of Zaragoza, researcher at the Instituto Agroalimentario de Aragon and research associate at the Wine Economics Research Centre of the University of Adelaide (Australia). His research interests lie in international trade in agricultural products, long-term agricultural changes, environmental history, wine economics and depopulation processes and policies.  His latest books are Wine Globalization (Cambridge University Press), Agricultural Development in the World Periphery: A Global Economic History Approach (Palgrave-Macmillan) and Natural Resources and Economic Growth: Learning from History (Routledge). He holds the chair DPZ Depopulation and Creativity at the University of Zaragoza
