She holds a degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of the Azores (2002) and a Master’s in Environmental Engineering from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (2011). She is a Senior Member of the Order of Engineers. 

She is currently working in the areas of social development, as a technical coordinator for a CLDS-4G, and European funds, as a consultant. 

Since 2018 she is a PhD student in Development, Societies and Territories at UTAD and her main research interests are the Cohesion Policy of the European Union, namely its impact on the development of regions and territorial cohesion.
