Patrícia Martins is Assistant Professor of Economics (namely, monetary economy and economic policy) at the Department of Economics, Sociology and Management (DESG) of University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD). Since 2012, she holds a PhD in Economics from UTAD and she is researcher in the Centre for Transdisciplinary Development Studies (CETRAD). Patricia’s current research interests include stabilization policies in the context of the European monetary union (EMU), mainly fiscal policies and the role of the fiscal governance, and international macroeconomics, in particular issues related to macroeconomic imbalances and emigration remittances. She has presented and published some papers on these fields. At present, she is also concerned with the role that economic policy can have to mitigate climate change.
