He has a graduate degree in Military Sciences from the Military Academy “Marechal Samora Machel” in Mozambique (2009), a postgraduate degree in Military Sciences from the Higher Institute of Defense Studies “Lieutenant General Armando Emílio Guebuza” in Mozambique (2018), and in Statistics and Scientific Research from the Hispanic Society of Scientific Researchers of Peru (2020). He also holds a master’s in Political Science and African Studies from the Pedagogical University in Mozambique (2016). He is currently a professor at the Higher Institute of Defense Studies “Lieutenant General Armando Emílio Guebuza” in the Joint Chiefs of Staff Course, Political Science and International Relations. His main research interest focuses on Territorial Governance, Agrarian Policies and Participatory Governance.

Current Research Project:

This PhD project is developed within the doctoral programme of Development, Societies and Territories (UTAD) and entitled “The influence of cotton organizations on territorial governance in Mozambique: The case of cotton growers’ associations in the province of Nampula.” The study assumes an analysis of the systemic nature of governance that occurs in the context of Nampula province in northern Mozambique. More specifically, the empirical proposal focuses on the study of variables of the functioning of cooperatives and associations of cotton producers operating in the study territory.Â
