Carlos Peixeira Marques is an Associate Professor at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD), and a Researcher at the Centre for Transdisciplinary Development Studies (CETRAD). He supervised 7 PhD and 35 Master theses. He has participated in more than 80 international scientific events and published 40 articles, in journals such as Journal of Travel and Tourism Marketing, Journal of Destination Marketing and Management, Current Issues in Tourism, or Tourism Management Perspectives. He has been the coordinator of several regional and national Management and Tourism initiatives and projects. He has been the Head of the Department of Economics, Sociology, and Business, the Chairman of the Pedagogical Council and the Chairman of the Scientific Council at UTAD. He has also received 5 awards for his scientific contribution.

His research interest broadly spans the attitudes and behaviours of managers, employees, and consumers, and the affective facets of their attitudes and behaviours. Most of his research is focused on hospitality & tourism (hosts and guests) and health care (providers and patients).
