Sofia Lopes holds a PhD in Tourism Management from ISCTE-IUL and Universidade Europeia and a Master and Bachelor degree in Dentistry from Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde Egas Moniz, Portugal.
She is currently an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Technology and a member of the Scientific and Pedagogical Council of Universidade Europeia. She is also an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences at Universidade Lusíada de Lisboa, Portugal.
Her research interests pretend to focus on the impact of hospitality on tourism, especially its importance in health and wellness tourism and the convergence between hospitality in the hotel sector and hospitality in the health sector.
Her current research focuses on the importance of robots in the hospitality industry, cultural and heritage tourism, the relationship between tourism and peace, and the importance of academic mobility and its relationship to tourism.
