Ana Fonseca is a PhD student in Development, Societies and Territories at the UTAD (University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro). She is an MSc in Management from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD). She benefited from the opportunity of developing her master’s dissertation within the scope of the project INTERACT – “Integrative Research, Environment Agrochains and Technology, BEST – BioEconomy and Sustainability”, a multidisciplinary project, led by the UTAD, focused on supporting North region social and economic agents to enhance the sustainability of the agroforestry and food systems and to strength the regional shift towards the paradigm of bioeconomy.

Currently, her research focuses on agroecological transitions. She is developing the thesis “Socio-economic dimension of agroecological transitions, individual and collective decision making: the case of wine regions”.
