The Centro de Estudos Transdisciplinares para o Desenvolvimento highlights the participation of its member and researcher Anderson Galvão in the 90 Seconds of Science programme, through episode 2242, dedicated to entrepreneurship in rural and low-density territories.
A professor at the Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, Anderson Galvão has focused his research on the impact of entrepreneurship on the development and revitalization of rural areas, particularly regions facing depopulation and population ageing. In the episode, the researcher discusses the importance of small business initiatives in stimulating local economies, attracting and retaining young people, and enhancing the value of local resources and regional identity.
The research presented also includes the evaluation of an entrepreneurship programme developed in the Sabor region, funded by EDP, which supported unemployed individuals in creating their own employment opportunities. The 90 Seconds of Science programme promotes scientific research carried out in Portugal, bringing science closer to society through short daily episodes featuring researchers and scientific projects.
